The new PXG 0311 XP GEN7 irons were developed over 10 years and represent the most significant leap forward in iron technology and performance in PXG's history. Our GEN7 XP (Xtreme Performance) model offers an incredibly soft feel, extreme distance, and extreme forgiveness for mid-to-high handicap players. The GEN7 XP irons feature a slightly larger head size with a bit more offset, a maximum C.O.R. up to the USGA limit, and include our patented new QuantumCOR technology, the new Titanium Bezel Technology, and the thinnest face in golf. NEW QuantumCOR Technology PXG's new, ultra-light core material—QuantumCOR—was developed over 10 years and helps reduce core mass, allowing more weight to be placed low and around the perimeter of the clubhead, drastically increasing MOI. Combined with PXG’s variable ultra-thin face technology, this improves COR up to the USGA limit for extreme face deflection and incredible ball speed. Variable Ultra-Thin Maraging Steel Face Since their introduction, PXG irons have featured the thinnest face in golf, and with GEN7, the face is now even thinner. The variable ultra-thin face, made from high-strength HT1770 maraging steel, is just 0.050" (~1.27 mm) thick—15% thinner than previous models. Combined with PXG’s core material, the GEN7 irons deliver COR performance exceeding the USGA limit, contributing to greater distance and forgiveness while also improving sound and feel. Power Channel Technology Power Channel Technology is a proprietary U-shaped corridor built into the internal surface of the face to increase deflection and bending in the upper region. The channel creates face movement and transfers energy to simultaneously increase launch angle, trajectory, and ball speed. Titanium Bezel Technology A lightweight titanium insert housing Precision Weighting Technology removes mass from the center of the club to distribute weight around the perimeter and increase MOI. Internal Tungsten Weighting The GEN7 irons feature 20 grams of internal tungsten weighting that balances the center of gravity in the middle of the face and increases the moment of inertia (MOI) to improve forgiveness. Precision Weighting Technology A large weight is located near the center of gravity on the back of the clubhead. This large central weight can be used to achieve the optimal swing weight. Unique to PXG, customers can experience the benefits of these adjustments during a personal fitting. The weights are not intended to be adjusted after purchase. 5X Forged Each iron is forged five times from soft 8620 carbon steel, creating a tight grain structure that increases strength, extends groove life, and improves overall feel and appearance. Milled Back Surface Milling the back of each iron is a highly precise process that reduces wall thickness more than forging alone, allowing for a high-performance body design and improved aesthetics.
