10 years in the making, the new PXG 0311 P GEN7 irons are the biggest leap in iron technology and performance in PXG's history. Our GEN7 P (Players) model offers a soft, responsive feel and the ideal balance of workability and forgiveness for low to mid handicap players. The GEN7 P irons offer a moderate offset in a mid-sized club head design, maximum C.O.R. up to the USGA limit and feature our patented new QuantumCOR technology, new Titanium Bezel Technology and the thinnest face in golf. NEW QuantumCOR technology PXG's new ultra-lightweight core material - QuantumCOR - has been 10 years in the making and helps to reduce the mass of the core, allowing more weight to be placed in the bottom and edge of the back of the clubhead, dramatically increasing MOI. Combined with PXG's variable ultra-thin face technology, this improves the COR to the USGA limit for extreme face deflection and incredible ball speed. Ultra-thin face made from maraging steel Since their introduction, PXG irons have had the thinnest face in golf, and with GEN7 the face is now even thinner. The variable, ultra-thin face made from high-strength HT1770 maraging steel is just 0.050" (~1.27mm) thick - 15% thinner than previous models. Combined with PXG's proprietary core material, the GEN7 irons deliver C.O.R. performance that exceeds the USGA limit, helping to increase distance and forgiveness while improving sound and feel. Power Channel Technology Power Channel Technology is a proprietary U-shaped corridor incorporated into the inner face of the clubface to increase deflection and bend at the top. The channel creates clubface movement and transfers energy to simultaneously increase launch angle, trajectory and ball speed. Titanium Bezel Technology A lightweight titanium insert housing Precision Weighting Technology removes mass from the center of the club to distribute weight around the perimeter and increase MOI. Internal Tungsten Weighting GEN7 irons feature 20 grams of internal tungsten weighting, which balances the center of gravity in the middle of the clubface and increases the moment of inertia (MOI) to improve forgiveness. Precision weight technology A large weight is located near the center of gravity at the back of the club head. This large center weight can be used to achieve the optimum swing weight. Unique to PXG, customers can experience the benefits of these adjustments during a personal fitting. The weights are not intended to be adjusted after purchase. 5X Forged Each iron is forged five times from soft 8620 carbon steel, creating a tight grain structure that increases strength, extends groove life and improves overall feel and appearance. Milled back plate Milling the back of each iron is a high-precision process that reduces the wall thickness more than would be possible through forging alone to achieve a high-performance body design and improved aesthetics.
