The Mavrik fairway wood from Callaway was developed for more confidence and particularly long clubs from the fairway. With the Mavrik wood, Callaway heralds the next generation of woods developed with the help of artificial intelligence. A new, even more powerful super-computer was used to calculate thousands of clubface configurations and determine the best one. A separate clubface was calculated for each wood, representing a real revolution in the development of golf clubs. The result is a clubface that generates maximum ball speed for both centred and off-centre hits and is optimally matched to the respective ball flight characteristics of the individual Lofts. • Through the use of artificial intelligence, the new Flash Face SS20 has been optimised to generate the highest possible ball speeds. Compared to last year, off-centre hits in particular have been optimised in this variant to provide additional forgiveness

. Forged C300 Maraging Steel clubface

• The Mavrik fairway woods are equipped with a forged clubface made of C300 Maraging Steel. This high-strength material ensures particularly high ball speeds and provides optimum feedback at impact.

Progressive leading edge geometry

• A newly developed leading edge, the lower edge of the clubface, makes it much easier to get under the ball. In combination with the flat club head design, this gives the club a particularly high level of confidence in the address position. This enables better ball strikes, resulting in a steep launch angle and significantly more distance.

T2C carbon crown and optimised sole weighting

• The T2C carbon crown used has been designed to be significantly lighter. The weight saved has been strategically positioned for a higher moment of inertia, thus increasing the club's forgiveness. A fixed weight has been placed in the head to position the centre of gravity as low as possible and generate a high launch angle.

Jailbreak and Face Cup technology

• Jailbreak technology enables particularly high efficiency and ball speed thanks to less deformation of the club head. 2 titanium rods mounted vertically behind the clubface counteract the deformation and prevent energy loss at impact. Thanks to the Face Cup technology, even off-centre clubs lose significantly less speed. This is made possible by the particularly high trampoline effect of the face cup.
